Our denomination has identified 10 Missional Markers of Healthy Churches. The Long Obedience Team is focused specifically on pursuing the Missional Marker of Transforming Our Community Through Compassion, Mercy, and Justice.

Currently, and for the foreseeable future, we are humbly listening to the voices of those who have experienced the effects of racism and racial injustice. 

GUIDING PRINCIPLES AND VALUES

• We value Biblical text, through which God speaks and which is made alive through the Spirit. 

• We belong to a denominational family that has a long history of compassion, mercy, and justice and we utilize the resources of the Covenant Church.

• We understand God has created a diverse human family and that our lives individually and together are to reflect God’s diverse kingdom.

• We prioritize listening to the voices of people of color.
