Color Wars
Get ready for BCC Youth’s jaw-dropping annual kickoff event!
Your mission: Conquer six thrilling challenges and prepare to get colorized! 🌈
Working in teams of five or six, you’ll face six epic tasks that will test your mental and physical agility, all while dodging flying color powder.
Bring your friends, bring your game face, dress in all white, and get ready for a colorful adventure you won’t forget!
FAQs
What should I wear?
Wear as much white as possible! White T-shirts, white shorts, white pants, and white sweatpants are all good options! We’ve even had students wear white painter's suits from Home Depot!
Can I Get Creative?
YES!! Get creative with what you wear!
Get together and make some tutus out of white tulle. Put white ribbons or bandanas in your hair. Or get semi-formal with a nice white button-down shirt and a black tie, maybe with some sharp sunglasses. White headbands? Why not! Have fun with what you wear!
Should I wear eye protection?
Optional: You might want to wear swimming goggles or sunglasses to help protect your eyes from the colored powder.
How strict is the “white clothing” dress code?
Not strict at all! It’s just an idea to keep things fun and playful. :)
How is the color administered?
Leaders will throw colored powder at students as they complete relay challenges. When students throw powder, we’ll ask them to avoid the face and eyes. If your student doesn’t want to get colorized, this event isn’t right for them.
Is the colored powder safe?
Here’s what the makers of our colored powder say about their product:
Washes out of skin, hair & most fabrics: Color Blaze bulk color powder is formulated for easy post-event cleanup. It rinses from skin and hair with standard soap and water, washes out of most fabrics in one laundry cycle, and clears from grass and concrete with a garden hose or leaf blower.
Non-toxic cornstarch formula: Color Blaze color powder is made from cornstarch, baking soda, and FD&C-approved colorants. It contains no fragrances, gluten, or heavy metals and is formulated for outdoor events where participants range from children to adults.
How does the color affect the inside of cars?
There will probably be some color in your car. Please bring towels or sheets to cover the inside of your car for the ride home.
Should I bring a friend?
YES!! Bring several, in fact. This is a great event to invite friends to!

A Weekend to Slow Down, Listen, Play, and Grow
Step away from the rush of life and spend a relaxed weekend with friends by Birch Bay. We’ll worship together, hang out together, and rediscover how good it feels to slow down and truly listen to God and to each other.

To listen to Scripture.
To notice the world around us.
To create without needing to be perfect.

To notice the good in each other and speak it aloud.

Life Together
We’ll cook meals, play games, share conversations, and enjoy plenty of unhurried time together. It’s a simple weekend — but one that’s full of meaning.
Flexible Timing
Because this retreat is local (right here in Whatcom County), you’ve got some flexibility. Can’t make it Friday night? Join us Saturday morning before the boat cruise. Need to leave early? No problem — just be there as much as you can. If you need flexibility, talk with us — we’ll see what we can do to make it work!

It’s a cozy night of food, laughter, and gratitude with friends from BCC Youth—and the best part? We’ll provide the turkey; you get to bring your favorite Thanksgiving side dish or dessert to share!

Strike Up Some Fun at Our Nerd Bowling Night! 🎳✨
Lace up those bowling shoes, bring your A-game, and come dressed as a nerd! Our youth group bowling night promises lots of laughs, friendly competition, and unforgettable memories. See you at the lanes!

Join us as we nerd out over one of our favorite movies! We’re not sure which one we’ll watch yet, but we can guarantee that it will NOT be a prequel! JK! It might be! Kids will vote for which episode we watch together! Food will be in abundance, and, of course, Star Wars-themed! Pay attention to the different times of this event! 5:30-8:00.
