Local/Global Serving Opportunities

Do you want to use your gifts and skills to serve God? There are many ways to serve with us, both in our life together and outside the walls of our church. Whether you help with the tech team for our Sunday worship services, cook a meal or teach overseas, you can make an impact in our world.

For more information about serving in our life together as a church, fill out this form.

To volunteer in our local community and elsewhere, read the items below. This is updated as we learn of new opportunities.

World Relief Western Washington

BCC hosts the local World Relief office’s cultural orientation classes for newly arrived refugees. These classes are important to orient participants to life in the US, and more specifically, in Whatcom County. We are looking for volunteers to help with transportation, childcare, and hospitality. Usually these classes take place on four mornings every other month. If you cannot help for all the sessions but are available for one day, it is still helpful! To volunteer, contact Pastor Adria.

Save the dates! BCC will again be partnering with World Relief to help the the children of refugees prepare for school in the U.S. This year we will be holding a School Readiness Week, full of learning and activities, on August 5-9. If you are interested in volunteering in this program, please fill out this interest form. For more information, contact Pastor Adria.

Travel and serve overseas!

Consider a global internship, student teaching abroad, or short-term immersion trip with the ECC. Find out more here.

Regular Volunteer Opportunities in Community

We are looking for more volunteers to help prepare a hot meal to drop off for the residents of the Gardenview Tiny Home Village in Bellingham. We coordinate with one of the village’s staff members to let them know in advance when we're coming and what we're bringing, so that residents can make plans accordingly. If you would like more information, contact Terry Foulke.

The Lighthouse Mission always needs individuals and groups to help in their shelter. Visit here for more information and to become a volunteer.

Interfaith Coalition serves families experiencing homelessness in Whatcom County and is a leader and a partner in tackling some of our community’s greatest issues to ensure the health and well-being of all of Whatcom County’s residents. There are several ways to volunteer: maintaining housing units, assisting families with moves, preparation for annual events, donating items, knitting, transporting and serving food, etc. Visit here for more information and to become a volunteer.
