Next Steps
BCC Arts Night — Tonight at 6 PM, come see and hear some of our family's creative responses to Jesus' parables and to what God has been doing in our lives.
Life Together Classes for Adults:
1. “It’s Not Easy Being Green (And in the Church)!”
Facilitators: Mike Merchant, Mark Olson, guests — Classroom C, Sanctuary. In 1970, public interest in caring for planet Earth in the U.S. awakened as Earth Day activities around the country drew millions of people. Yet the Christian community has had a complicated and fractured response to the call to care for the environment. The BCC Creation Care Team, founded in 2019, invites the congregation to more deeply explore the relationship between our faith and our relationship to planet earth.
2. "Telling the Whole Story" Facilitators: Martin Schlomer, Rachel Gulleson — Classroom A. Study the Scripture texts and discuss the points and consequences of the sermon series, which will look at the whole story of the Bible.
Sun, Sept 28: Life Together guest speaker, Jim Bruckner
Sun, Oct 5: Life Together guest speaker, James Amadon

ReFrame starts September 24!
Our lives are increasingly complex, and so is our modern world. As a result, Christians often struggle to connect what they believe with what they do day by day. ReFrame addresses this challenge through a 10-week, film-based series that helps Christians connect faith with all of life, whether that be tending a garden, caring for children, serving at church, or negotiating a business deal. This group study is for all adults, but may be especially good for those discovering or reconstructing their faith in Jesus. ReFrame will be held on Wednesday evenings, from 6:30 to 8:00 pm in the Library. For more information on ReFrame, you can visit this website [https://www.reframecourse.com/] or contact Pastor Adria at adria@bellinghamcov.org.
Loving Our Immigrant Neighbors — Many of our immigrant and refugee neighbors are facing real challenges, uncertainty, and fear. Many of us wonder how to help. We begin and return regularly to prayer, knowing that prayer shapes us for action. You are invited to an evening of prayer, reflection, and learning on Monday, September 29, 7:00pm, at Hillcrest Church (in the Commons). For details, email alex.a@hcbellingham.com.
Vespers Evening Service, Sunday, October 5, 6:00pm in the Sanctuary – Vespers is a contemplative evening worship service of scripture, singing, and prayer, in the style of Taizé.
Rainy and cold weather is coming! There are many in our community—including those who are homeless—who cannot afford what is needed to stay warm and dry. Through Oct. 22nd, we will be collecting clean, new, or gently used coats and new wool or cotton unisex socks with few to no images.. These items will be distributed by Interfaith Coalition and Road2Home. Donations can be placed in the boxes in the foyer near the church office.
Newcomer Class: If you are new to BCC in the last few months, we want to invite you to a class on Saturday, October 25 from 9:00am-Noon. This is a great opportunity to get to know others, learn about the vision, values, and theology of BCC, and discover some next steps you can take to get connected. Following the class, there will be an opportunity to become a member of the church if desired. This will be facilitated by Pastor Phil and will meet in Classroom C.
