Next Steps

This Sunday –  On fifth Sundays are Inter-Generational Sundays, meaning that children will stay in the worship service, and we intentionally include them in various ways, such as leading worship and having an interactive sermon response time (We will still have nursery and preschool room available).

Prime Timer’s Potluck Luncheon, Thurs. Sept. 10, 12:30 pm – Join this fun group for a potluck lunch, followed by a presentation from Mike Pooleon on Thomas Cranmer, a sixteenth-century English scholar at Cambridge University.

Our BCC Preschool is getting up and going for the 2026-27 school year! With costs going up across the board, we are doing our best to keep tuition at an affordable level for young families. Life Together for all ages resumes on September 20!

Adult classes will include:

1. Sermon Discussion

Facilitators: Martin Schlomer, Tim Keiper — Classroom A (Prayer Room, if classroom is not ready yet) -- Join us for a study of the Scripture texts and a discussion of the points and consequences of the morning’s sermon.

2. From Text to Life: Understanding and Studying the Bible 

Facilitators: Jonathan Spainhour, guests — Classroom C (Sanctuary, if classroom is not ready yet) -- How did the Bible come to us, and how can we read it faithfully? This class will explore the transmission and reliability of Scripture before equipping participants with some practical tools for careful observation, responsible interpretation, and faithful application.

Crescendo Webinar – Storytelling and story-listening are sacred practices that help us recognize God’s presence, remember who we are, honor one another, and strengthen community. Participants will reflect on their own stories, practice listening, and learn how sharing and receiving stories can deepen our faith, connection, and belonging. Crescendo is a ministry of the Evangelical Covenant Church that unleashes the potential of those of retirement age and beyond to engage in the work of God’s kingdom. Arts Night Rescheduled

We have rescheduled the Arts Night for October 11 at 6 pm. If you are an artist, musician, or writer, consider crafting a response to Philippians. Perhaps there is an image or concept that has captured your attention after reading the letter or hearing the sermons? Starting Sept 16 we will be collecting submissions of art, poetry, essays, stories, and songs related to the letter of Philippians (look for the table near the office). Deadline for submissions is Sunday, Oct 4. Contact Pastor Adria (adria@bellinghamcov.org) if you have questions.
