Calling all artists, writers, and musicians!
We will be hosting a BCC Arts Night on Sunday, September 21, at 6 p.m. We invite you to consider writing a song, poem, short story, or creating visual art in response to a theme in Jesus' parables or a characteristic of God. We will also be creating a booklet to accompany the evening, which will include both images and written submissions.
* Submissions are due by September 1! Find the guidelines and instructions for submissions here or in paper form on Next Step Kiosks.
* Contact Pastor Adria if you have questions or would like to help with the Arts Night.
Religion and State Forum — Join us anytime during our ongoing series dealing with this ancient issue and its expression in the 21st century. Sessions meet in classroom C. Contact Mark Olson for more information.
* Wednesday, September 10, 6:30 PM — Discussion of The Power Worshippers, by Katherine Stewart. This book explores the rise of religious nationalism.
Cultivating A Listening Life (CALL): Learning to Listen to God, Self, and Others – CALL is an invitation to participate with a small group of adults, giving God opportunity to speak through prayer practices and one another. This year's cohort begins in September with a Saturday half-day retreat and then meets online one Tuesday evening a month through May. Applications are due September 8! For more information, see the info sheet at the Welcome Kiosk (or here), or contact Pastor Adria.
Are you growing closer to God and learning to love others? Consider joining one of our groups if you aren't part of one already. Many of our groups paused for the summer and will resume in the next week or so. For descriptions and contacts, see the list of groups on the Next Step Kiosks or here.

Facilitators: Mike Merchant, Mike Olson, guests — Classroom C, Sanctuary
In 1970, public interest in caring for planet earth in the U.S. awakened as Earth Day activities around the country drew millions of people. Yet the Christian community has had a complicated and fractured response to the call to care for the environment. The BCC Creation Care Team, founded in 2019, invites the congregation to more deeply explore the relationship between our faith and our relationship to planet earth.
Sept 28: James K Bruckner (retired ECC pastor and professor of Old Testament, author); Oct 9: James Amadon (ECC pastor, Executive Director of Circlewood)
2) Telling the Whole Story
Facilitators: Martin Schlomer, Adria Willett-Leonardo — Classroom A
Study the Scripture texts and discuss the points and consequences of the sermon series, which will look at the whole story of the Bible.
